Numerous patent applications are the result of inventions by employees. So-called service inventions are subject to a special employee invention law in Germany, which underwent some significant changes in October 2009.

We advise on the determination of an appropriate inventor’s compensation, timely notification and claiming of employee inventions.

If disputes arise between the persons involved, we represent them in extrajudicial settlement negotiations, before the Arbitration Board for Employees’ Inventions at the German Patent and Trademark Office and before the ordinary courts.
